The NMA was formed in 2009 by Paul Nelson and Karla Drayson, this prestigious music academy brings all styles and genres of teaching to the Costa del Sol in most musical instruments and in voice.

Our fully qualified team of educators have vast experience in performing and teaching from classical to todays music.

‘In 2009 the Nelson Music Academy was born!’

Paul Nelson picked up his first pair of drum sticks at 6 years old. Studied trumpet at secondary school attaining grade 5 ABRSM. Also, playing drums with Poole Scout Band (then became Wessex Corps of Drums).

At 16 he joined the Royal Green Jackets as a bandsman and began his career performing clarinet and saxophone. He attended the Kneller Hall military school of music and became a degree student in theory of music and performing.

Paul was posted to the 1st battalion the Royal Green Jackets 43rd and 52nd and performed all around the world playing in; military tattoos in Edinburgh, Berlin and Wembley, The Queen Mary, Buckingham Palace and the Royal Albert Hall.

After serving his time in the military he has taught in schools and privately in the UK and Spain and he formed “The Music Factory” in 2002 to fill a need in Spain for contemporary music teaching and a dance school.
